1981 Talbot

Attractive and well made, the 1981 Talbot exhibits surprising elegance and suppleness for this property. Dark ruby, with a moderately intense bouquet of cassis and meaty, leathery, tarry aromas, this medium-bodied wine has good concentration and light tannins. It is drinkable now. Similar in style to the 1979, the 1981 is a shade fruitier and deeper. Anticipated maturity: Now-2000. Last tasted, 4/89. Jan 1998, www.robertparker.com
