Super nose with some exotic pineapple/mango/passion fruit undertones mixed with Vouvray-like blossom-tree and quince jelly, enormous body, but incredible purity and crystal-like transparency, great length, a masterpiece! Drink 2020-2070. (19 points) Michel Bettane, decanter.com

Suduiraut is usually a pale amber, deepening with age. The 2010 seems lighter and more winey than sucrate. It does not exhale its cool juniper and honeysuckle breath at once. Well-contained and harmonised flavours of acids and honey, beeswax, steely and stony minerals, dawn on the mid-palate, giving way, at length, to meditation onla pourriture noble and its sublimity. Along with Chateau Rieussec, the Suduiraut 2010 is a candidate for best Sauternes of the vintage. It has a wonderful bouquet with an instantaneous sense of completeness and harmony, with layers of botrytized fruit intermingling with apricot blossom, peach skin and marmalade. This is powerful, but not in your face. There is no need to be. The palate is well-balanced with a viscous opening. There is plenty of botrytis here, good acidity and enormous weight on the finish. Perhaps it needs a little more tension, but otherwise this is a very impressive wine for the Sauternes vintage. eRobertParker.com.April, 2014

The Chateau Suduiraut has a comparatively rich, botrytized bouquet with dried honey, pineapple and a touch of Seville orange marmalade, with exquisite definition and focus. The palate is well-balanced, with a viscous texture and a good level of botrytis, demonstrating fine minerality and tautness. Dried mango, quince and spice all interlace the focused finish, which is long in the mouth. Tasted against its peers, this has a higher level of intensity and focus. A superb follow-up to the sensational 2009. Neal Martin, Wine Advocate May 2011

Really big and rich, with lots of raw date, glazed pear, creamed peach and fig aromas and flavors. Very lush and long, but also clean and round despite its heft. —J.M. James Molesworth, winespectator.com

Tasted blind 4 Apr: Rich and subtle on the nose. it already feels heavy in the glass. Very big and bold. Spicy. One of the sweetest and it seems to be interesting too! Very rich for a 2010. RS 142 g/l, TA 3.8 g/l. Tasted 7 Apr: Mid pale gold. Broad and rich and fresh but with very ripe pear-juice notes. There is real weight here. Much less citrus peel than most other 2010 Sauternes. Real race. Dangerously delicious now. Long. Super clean. Medium to heavy weight. Great undertow. Long. Nervy. (Score: 18 18-35) 13.8% Jancis Robinson, jancisrobinson.com

A very fresh nose offers green tropical fruit like unripe mango and limes. The palate leans more towards very very ripe fresh tropical citrus, I heard toffee apple suggested, but there is still fresh acidity. There is not a lot of weight here, but the acidity softens with fig jam on the finish, just about right.

This rich, ripe Sauternes has lovely aromatics but the palate is less complex than the nose suggests. The sweet dried pineapple and dried mango flavours are chunky and are attractive with modest depth. This full bodied Suduiraut will no doubt age beautifully. wait at least five to seven years before approaching it. Jeannie Cho Lee MW asianpalate.com
