Last Tasted 7/92||The 1985 Solaia continues to evolve at a quicker pace than the 1985 Sassicaia. A huge nose of olives, toast, cedar, and cassis offers considerable enjoyment. In the mouth, this dark ruby/purple-colored, opulent wine exhibits a rich, medium to full-bodied, chewy texture, decent acidity, and well-integrated flavors of smoky new oak. The finish is supple and long as the tannins have quickly melted away. Approachable and delicious, this offering should continue to improve for another 7-8 years. Wine Advocate.December, 1992
