I am unsure what to make of the 2013 Baglio Soria Santagostino. The wine is so dark, heavy and impenetrable, you lose sight of the fruit. The blend sees Nero d'Avola and Syrah (aged in American oak for eight months). Those mammoth oak tones take center stage. I tasted the wine at its infancy and my feeling is that it will shed some of its oak extremities with time. Or maybe not. Aug 2016, www.robertparker.com
