Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2011 horizontal tasting in Beaune. The Romanee-Saint-Vivant Les Quatre Journaux 2011 has an intriguing bouquet: black cherry fruit, blueberry, touches of licorice and aniseed just hovering off-stage not knowing whether to come on or not. Time will tell. The palate is medium-bodied with ripe, succulent tannins that lend this real corpulence. Yet there is not quite developed the complexity and precision on the finish compared to other grand cru 2011s poured blind in this flight. Nov 2014, www.robertparker.com
