This excellent estate in the northern Medoc (near the village of Begadan) has produced a blend of 70% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc and 10% Petit Verdot. Made by visionary and conscientious proprietor Jean Guyon, this is a classic style of Bordeaux, with notes of cedar wood, blackcurrants, underbrush, and spice. The wine is medium-bodied and has soft tannins, moderately good concentration and texture, and an easygoing finish. Drink it over the next 5-6 years. Apr 2015, www.robertparker.com

Chateau Clos de Sarpe: Tasting through the Ages

It is in fact a tiny property in Bordeaux terms, made up of just 3.7 hectares and producing a maximum of 14,000 bottles a year, but more often than not, closer to just 10,000. In 2018 they ...
