Tasted blind at the annual Southwold tasting. The 2012 Chateau Rayne-Vigneau has a pleasing bouquet of acacia honey, white flowers and a hint of orange blossom that shows commendable detail. The palate is nicely balanced with a viscous opening: honey, almond and apricot vying for attention. Like many 2012 Sauternes, it simply lacks weight and density on the finish, but otherwise this is well crafted and should offer pleasure over the next ten years. Mar 2016, www.robertparker.com
