Critic Notes

97+ points. The 2014 Rapszodia, Kapcsándy's Cabernet Franc/Merlot blend, is once again utterly compelling. Cabernet Franc aromatics soar from the glass as this majestic, stunningly beautiful wine shows off its pedigree. Vivid, nuanced and finely sculpted, the 2014 hits all the right notes as the flavors and textures build into the huge, enveloping finish. This is the most impressive showing yet from the 2014. Here, too, interplay of richness and energy makes for a captivating wine. Dec 2016, www.vinous.com, Drink: 2020-2034

Fascinating aromas of rose petals, stems, ash and cherries follow through to a full body yet a tight and compact mouthfeel, giving this a wonderfully linear and polished finish. Such a long and beautiful finish. Cabernet franc and merlot. Drink or hold. May 2017, www.jamessuckling.com

Score: 97-/100James Suckling

A blend of 65% Cabernet Franc and 35% Merlot, the 2014 Rapszodia is starting to show the fragrant, super-perfumed nose of blueberry and black raspberry fruit. It is medium to full-bodied, fruit-driven and luscious. This looks to again be a top effort showcasing the strength of Cabernet Franc from the Kapcsandy vineyard. Oct 2015, www.robertparker.com

At just 17 years of age he fled Hungary during the Communist Revolution of 1956. ...

Napa Valley 2016 & 2017 Vintage Insights
The 2016 Vintage 2016 was undoubtedly a sensational vintage in Napa. Whilst it was the 5th warm vintage in a row, the season had a very wet start, so it was the first vintage in Napa since 2011 not classified as a drought vintage. For many, this brought more finesse to the tannins, more minerality and more balance to the ...

Designing It Differently: Five Unique Wineries
Great wineries come in many guises. Cutting-edge, contemporary architecture always turns heads, creating monoliths to winemaking on the landscape. Yet there are also plenty of more understated design features incorporated into chateau cellars that deserve a moment in the spotlight - whether to celebrate their technical innovation, unconventional use of raw materials or even conservation of tradition. From the show-stopping to the subtle, we take a look ...
