The Quinault l’Enclos comes from a pure terroir of gravelly soils. Impressive balance, soft palate and rich tannins. Rich blackberry and cassis match the vivd red-plum reflections in the glass, laced with a hint of vanilla.
FINE+RARE (February 2017)
This is really well made with super fine tannins and pretty fruit with blueberry and mineral. Fresh finish. Solid and polished. The land is now biodynamic. Same owners as Cheval Blanc. Close to quality of 2010. jamessuckling.com
James Suckling Score: 90-91/100
Pure and focused, with a nice underlying raciness to the plum, kirsch and violet notes. Supple overall, but there's good drive buried on the finish. James Molesworth, WineSpectator.com
Wine Spectator Score: 89-92/100
A dark ruby/purple color, attractive raspberry and blueberry fruit, a floral character, noteworthy elegance and undeniable purity and texture make for a complex, mid-weight, delicious Quinault from the owners of Cheval Blanc. Drink it over the next decade. Apr 2014, www.robertparker.com
