Average Score 92.5

A broad-ranging nose is comprised of honeysuckle, anise, clove, lemongrass, brioche and pear. There is an appealing sense of volume to the beautifully delineated, serious, textured and energetic flavors that are both classy and stylish, all wrapped in a hugely long yet delicately balanced finish where a touch of wood influence surfaces. A classy Pucelles of generosity and refinement that should amply reward at least a decade of cellaring. Tasted: Jun 15, 2014. Drink: 2021+
Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2011 horizontal tasting in Beaune. The Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Pucelles 2011 is rather muted on the nose and remains very reticent. There are light dewy green-apple scents that begin to appear, but it is very stubborn. The palate is crisp and taut on the entry: quite grassy with green apple and kiwi fruit, segueing toward a balanced but tightly wound finish that needs another couple of years to unwind. This is very classy and should age with style. eRobertParker.com.November, 2014
