This wine seemed as if extraction had been pushed to the limit, resulting in a wine with far too many tannins for the more delicately composed fruit element. There is nice earth, cedar, spice, and red and black currants, but the tannins slap the taster across the face in a none-too-pleasant manner. This may be the kind of wine we’ll get a better view of in another year. (Tasted two times.) Apr 2010, www.robertparker.com
