After a Merlot-dominated wine in 2014, this is back to business as usual. It’s an attractive, well balanced Pauillac with nicely integrated 50% new oak, classic Pibran perfume, medium weight fruit and fine tannins. Apr 2016,, Drink: 2020-2026
A juicy and savory wine with velvety tannins and a fresh and clean finish. Mar 2016,
Offers very nice purity from the get-go, with a core of cassis and cherry flavors that glide along, carried by a very fine chalky thread. This is lovely, with length and cut. Mar 2016, James Molesworth,
Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2015 Pibran is a little reduced to begin, with black fruits and tar notions plus hints of dried herbs and chocolate. Medium-bodied with a great core of expressive fruit, it has grainy tannins and a refreshing finish. Feb 2018,
The 2015 Pibran is a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Merlot, matured in 50% new oak for the next 18 months. It was picked between 21 September and 8 October. It has a precise, tightly wound bouquet at first, graphite-tinged black fruit gently unfurling with a suggestion of iodine in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin, perhaps a little coarseness that will be abided by time, moderate depth leading to a classic, foursquare, tobacco-tinged finish. This is a slightly conservative Pibran, but stylish and sure to give 10-15 years of drinking pleasure Apr 2016,, Drink: 2020-2035
Well-expressed, even Cabernet-Merlot blend showing crunchy black fruits. Clear and structured; will age well. Apr 2016, Steven Spurrier,, Drink: 2019-2028
The 2015 Pibran is soft, succulent and quite pretty. Sweet floral and spice notes meld into a core of dark red stone fruits in an attractive, supple wine that will drink well pretty much upon release. This is a lovely, fruit-driven Pauillac with considerable near term appeal. Apr 2016,
50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 50% Merlot. Bright crimson. Mineral start and quite a bit of sweetness. Racy and lively. A little sour on the end. Pretty drying tannins. Sweet and sour wine without anything quite knitting it together. But there is some delivery of 2015 charm... Apr 2016,, Drink: 2023-2030
