Average Score 90.13

Lots of black chocolate and black berry character. Full body, with a solid core of fruit and velvety tannins. Very well done. Delicious. This has a little more Cabernet Franc than normal with 23% and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest in Merlot.
19% Cabernet Franc, 72% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Sauvignon. 65% new oak. Deep greyish crimson. Interesting orange aroma in addition to spicy cassis. Such a contrast with the Pauillacs tasted at Pichon Longueville. Orange pekoe tea. Seductive without being opulent. Cleaner cut than may Pomerols this year. Fine and polite tannins but with a disguised grip. Julia Harding MW,
There is a lot of Merlot in Petit Village offerings, a property that enjoys an outstanding exposition of the plateau of Pomerol near the town of Libourne. The deep ruby/purple-hued 2011 exhibits lots of rich, concentrated fruit, medium to full body, and a supple, round style. It should drink nicely for a decade. If you like ripe berries, caramel, toffee and vanillin, you will like this. Wine Advocate.April, 2014
Jut 20,000 bottles of the 2011 Petit Village were made from a blend of 72% Merlot, 19% Cab Franc and 9% Cab Sauv. It has a cedar and sawn oak nose and the almost terrifying palate is hard work and bitterly tannic and brutal. I'm hoping the 14 months it spends in 65% new oak will soften this beast. If it does soften and the silky fruit underlying is set free it could be rather good.
