Average Score 89.4

The Le Petit Bocq has impressive freshness and vitality on the nose with fresh brambly blackberry fruit. The palate is fresh and well defined with tensile tannins, ebullient red-berried fruit marked with superb acidity and vigour. Perhaps not a long-term Saint Estephe but very feminine and beautifully crafted. Tasted April 2011. Neal Martin
Very parcellated indeed! Owner is a Belgian biologis Dr Gaëtan Lagneaux. Sweet, lightly toasty, easy nose. Slightly liqueur-like on the palate so that it is not one of the most piercing, minerally wines of this appellation, but it's a flattering drink and should be very good value.
Explosive fruit on the nose and fine, fleshy palate with natural tannins and grip for a good future. Drink 2015-24. Steven Spurrier,
Le Petit Bocq Situated on gravel based soils not far from Calon Segur, this blend of 58% Merlot, 29% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petit Verdot and the remainder Cabernet Franc is a powerful Cru Bourgeois that offers a chewy bite of black fruit, cassis and tannins.
Always an exuberant, richly fruity wine that shows classic Bordeaux hallmarks, this blend of equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot has plenty of black fruits, truffle, graphite and licorice as well as sweet tannins in a medium-bodied, richly fruity, glycerin-endowed style that makes for a very seductive wine meant to be drunk over the next 7-8 years. ||A member of the Alliance des Cru Bourgeois du Medoc.
