Average Score 93.17

A white with fabulous depth and structure that shows layers of sliced apple, mineral, chalk, and mango character. It's layered and powerful like a top red. The line of acidity is wonderful. Grand cru Burgundy style. James Suckling, jamessuckling.com
No tasting note given. Wine Advocate.April, 2012
The 2011 Blanc is a blend of 40% Sauvignon, 35% Semillon, 16% Sauvignon Gris and 9% Muscadelle cropped at 30hl/ha in successive tries between 30th August and 15th September. It has a well-defined bouquet with scents of grapefruit, lime flower, vanilla pod and a touch of guava that is nicely contained and focused. The palate has a well balanced entry that displays fine weight in the mouth. The oak is a little obtrusive at the moment but it will meld together with bottle age. There are attractive notes of grapefruit, bitter lemon and white peach with fine minerality. This is an excellent Pessac Blanc even though I would need more persistency on the finish to award a higher score. Tasted April 2012. Neal Martin, eRobertParker.com
Feels almost open and welcoming already, with lightly toasted brioche and salted butter notes giving way to well-defined straw, verbena and honeysuckle. Long and lush on the finish, this expands quickly with air and stands apart from the pack with its richly layered profile. James Molesworth, WineSpectator.com
Brilliant lemon-yellow, slight dry honey nose over beautifully expressed citrussy fruit, with flavour, structure and length. Will mature beautifully. Drink 2014-2020. (17.5 points). Decanter.com
Considering the quality of so many White Bordeaux in 2011, Pape Blanc is something of a disappointment. That said it has nice concentration of citrus fruit but feels a little flat.
