Dense purple red, summery black berry fruits with fine autumnal ripeness, quite broad, nicely concentrated palate, good fragrance, personality, depth and length. Drink 2016-25

A wine with plum and berry character and hints of spice and earth. Full body, with soft and velvety tannins and a juicy finish. Try in 2015. James Suckling, jamessuckling.com

Strongly savoury on the nose. Dry but rounded tannins. Could do with a little more flesh in the middle but I think this will even itself out in the bottle. Good length. (JH) Jancis Robinson, jancisrobinson.com

This perennial underachiever performed well above my expectations, and I am prepared to say this is the best Olivier I have ever tasted. Dense ruby/purple, with sweet, unsmoked cigar tobacco intermixed with graphite, black currants, cherries, and spice, it is medium to full-bodied, fleshy, beautifully textured, and long. It should drink well for 20 or more years. (Tasted once.)Robert Parker, Wine Advocate February 2012

Subtle aromas of violet and blueberry follow through to a medium body, with fine tannins and a fresh, clean finish

Tasted at the Pessac UGC. This is very tight and unyielding on the nose: thick black cherry, raspberry and a touch of iodine. The tannins are a little brutish at the moment with a vice-like grip on the palate, a little dry though with good weight. Rather introspective at the moment and short on the finish. Tasted April 2010.
