(from 4 different lieux-dits, all on the Vosne side that include Aux Athets, En la Perrière Noblot, Les Lavières and Bas de Combe). This too is trimmed in just enough wood to notice though the aromatic profile is much more deeply pitched with its layered array of dark berries, plum, earth and forest floor scents. There is outstanding richness to the full-bodied, concentrated and muscular flavors that are shaped by moderately rustic tannins on the sappy and mouth coating finale. This will also need at least a few years of cellar time first. Dec 2016, www.burghound.com
Score: 89-91/100 Allen Meadows, Burghound
The 2015 Nuits St Georges Village comes from parcels located close to Vosne-Romanee. It was showing a little sur-maturite on the nose with touches of fig and dates infusing the red cherry fruit. The palate is better and shows more freshness and balance. The acidity is nicely judged here and there is a tang of citrus fruit towards the confit-like, chalky-textured finish. It will require 2-3 years in bottle to find its groove, although there is good substance here, if not quite the refinement that would merit a higher evaluation. Dec 2016, www.robertparker.com
