A very dense and rich red with blackberry, blueberry and chocolate aromas and flavors. Full and intense. Turns delicate and bright at the end. Mar 2016,
An impressive Pomerol that has plenty of gas in the tank, this shows aromas of wild herbs, followed by scented plum and blueberry fruit, rich tannins and deftly handled (50% new) oak. Apr 2016,, Drink: 2022-2030
Delightfully fresh, with raspberry and plum coulis flavors over fine-grained tannins, carrying through a floral-edged finish. Mar 2016, James Molesworth,
The 2015 Moulinet is a blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. It has a composed bouquet of black fruit, a light oyster shell scent and then maraschino cherries. It keeps its head, does not succumb to some of the blowsiness demonstrated by other Pomerol crus. The palate is well balanced with grainy tannin, fresh in the mouth, and that new oak will be subsumed by the time of bottling. Sure, it is a little conservative, perhaps, but it should turn into a classically-lined Pomerol that will offer a decade of drinking pleasure. Apr 2016,, Drink: 2019-2030
A Stéphane Derenoncourt wine. Rich and sweet. Mellow and friendly, with a spine of flowers and minerals. Apr 2016,, Drink: 2024-2032
The 2015 Moulinet is dark, powerful and concentrated, with notable breadth and power. Mocha, chocolate, plum, spice and leather are all pushed forward. These clay-rich soils yield wines of breadth and intensity, but also limited overall complexity. The style is rich, intense and fruit-driven to the core. Frédéric Massie is the consulting winemaker.
