Once again a sleeper of the vintage, this St.-Emilion, made by perfectionist Alain Vauthier (proprietor of Ausone), reveals a character not unlike Ausone. It lacks only the majesty and completeness of that extraordinary wine. The Moulin St.-Georges exhibits an inky ruby/purple color along with a gorgeous perfume recalling a liqueur of crushed stones intermixed with white flowers, black currants, and a hint of raspberries. The excellent texture, terrific purity, and undeniable elegance as well as overall harmony suggest it is best drunk between 2005-2015. Oct 2003, www.robertparker.com
