The 2013 Moulin-a-Vent Vieilles Vignes comes from 60- to 80-year-old vines. It has a very subtle and complex bouquet of blackberry, boysenberry and mineral scents that unfold in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with supple black fruit on the entry, but the back end exerts quite a grip. It does not quite have the panache of other vintages that I have tasted, but it is still an impressive Moulin-a-Vent that will repay those with the patience to cellar for several years. It’s fair to say ...

Domaine Georges Roumier Vertical Tasting
A very special thank you to Jordi Orriols-Gil for sourcing the incredible collection below and making this evening possible. It is not often one sits down to a 30-wine vertical tasting over dinner. And when 27 out of those 30 wines are Domaine Georges Roumier Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru, dating from 2007 all the way back to 1945, it's hard not to ...

Venissa – The Walled Vineyard of Venice
Against All The Odds Venice is a city that seems to exist against all the odds: erosion, subsidence, flooding and over-population are all serious problems in this unique enclave of Northeast Italian coastline. Despite this, Venice remains arguably one of the most beautiful cities in the world, full of history, some of the world’s finest architecture, craftsmanship... not to mention ...
