Critic Notes

The 2014 Moulin a Vent from Olivier Merlin comes from 65-year-old vines and spent 11 months in wooden vat plus 8 months in stainless steel. It has a crisp, leafy redcurrant and crushed strawberry-scented bouquet that takes time to unfold. The palate is medium-bodied with fine, supple tannin. There is a crisp line of acidity here, clean fruit, fine tension on the finish, completing a delicious and more intellectual take on Moulin-a-Vent. Recommended. Aug 2016, www.robertparker.com

Discovering Dal Forno: A Veneto Travelogue
On Thursday 2nd August a small group from FINE+RARE flew out to Verona to visit the legendary Veneto estate, Dal Forno. Olivier Bernstein's Bespoke Burgundy
Undoubtedly one of our most memorable stops during our Autumn visit to Burgundy this year was the magnificent cellar of Olivier Bernstein in the heart of the old district of Beaune. Olivier Bernstein’s property is breathtaking, even before trying the wines in the cellar below. Olivier had the property completely renovated between 2005 and 2010, with the help of ...

A Feast with Olivier Humbrecht at Hunan
After our wonderful masterclass with Olivier Humbrecht of Domaine Zind-Humbrecht, we whisked him away, along with a few of our customers, to Hunan – one of London’s leading Chinese restaurants. Olivier planned another brilliant tasting for us – a Heimbourg vertical – designed to showcase the particularities of this single vineyard. With a particular focus on the Heimbourg Gewurztraminer, the ...
