A bright, floral style, with violet and singed iron notes up front, followed by silky-textured red currant, black cherry and damson plum fruit. An iron note frames he finish. —J.M. James Molesworth, winespectator.com
Fragrant, elegant crushed blackcurrant fruit, good concentration of old-vine depth and will show very well. Drink 2015-25. (17 points)Steven Spurrier, decanter.com
Very dark. Rather modest, restrained putty nose. Sweet and easy. Should be very attractive in the medium term but not one of the most ambitious. Tasted later that same day: Light, relaxed, quite eloquent. Lots of Cabernet freshness. Relatively lightweight. Chewy finish. A bit green and astringent. (Score: 16 18-28) Jancis Robinson, jancisrobinson.com
A bit stewy on the nose. Rather severe and hard though at the far end there is a dose of rather pretty fruit which suggests there's some good juice here. Just seems a little over done.
This is a light, elegant Margaux with spicy layered fruit. Beautifully balanced with blackberry and plum flavours that are poised and delicate. Not heavy nor dense - well balanced wine from an excellent year. Jeannie Cho Lee MW asianpalate.com
Tasted twice with consistent notes, this is a little smudged on the nose: a veil of very ripe black fruits but there is a touch of greenness underneath. The palate is medium-bodied, just a little astringent with a chewy, dense finish that needs more purity and finesse. So-so for the vintage. Tasted April 2011. Neal Martin erobertparker.com
