Average Score 90.1

The Monbousquet 2016 Blanc delivers intense scents of lime juice, lemon zest and grapefruit with hints of peach blossom, beeswax and mandarin peel. Medium-bodied, the palate is packed with zesty layers with a wonderfully refreshing backbone, finishing on a compelling chalky note. Nov 2018, www.robertparker.com
A juicy and round white already with dried pinepple and honey. Hints of pears. Full and flavorful. Mar 2017, www.jamessuckling.com
They harvested here at the end of August to maintain freshness. The result is a rich but well balanced white wine with crisp fresh apricot and gentle white pear notes. 60% Sauvignon Blanc, 30% Sauvignon Gris, 5% Sémillon and 5% Muscadelle, aged in 50% new oak. 36hl/ha yield. Apr 2017, www.decanter.com, Drink: 2018-2030
Owned by Gérard Perse. 60% Sauvignon Blanc, 30% Sauvignon Gris, 5% Muscadelle, 5% Sémillon. Not barrel fermented but aged in a mix of 50% new and 50% used barrels. Bâtonnage. Exotic and salty and sweet. Quite rich. Not refreshing. But smoky and big and beefy. Apr 2017, www.jancisrobinson.com, Drink: 2018-2021
The Monbousquet 2016 Blanc is a blend of 60% Sauvignon Blanc, 30% Sauvignon Gris and 5% each of Muscadelle and Sémillon. It has a crisp bouquet with fresh lime and passion fruit aromas, nicely detailed with good vigor. The palate is well balanced with fine acidity, a little waxiness to the texture from the Sauvignon Gris with a straightforward dried pineapple-tinged finish. Fine.
