2000 Meyney

The 2000 Chateau Meyney was panned on release. Now after 15 years...? Well, it's slightly better but no great shakes. The nose is just rather muddled with mulberry and stewed plum scents mixed with high-toned iodine. The palate is medium-bodied with dry tannin, mealy in the mouth with a blunt, ham-fisted finish that just lacks freshness. It's drinkable, but not enjoyable. Tasted April 2015.
