The 2011 Meursault 1er Cru Perrieres does not quite offer the cohesion or the ripeness of the Clos des Perrieres, with a slight vegetal note that becomes more pronounced with aeration. The palate is nicely balanced, but the Clos des Perrieres demonstrated more vitality and minerality, especially on the finish, which here is just a little muffled and surprisingly, out-classed by the village cru.
