Generous new wood aromas presently fight somewhat with the densely fruited nose of cassis, black cherry and sauvage hints. There is excellent concentration and power to the big-bodied flavors that brim with dry extract that both coats the palate and buffers the firm tannic spine on the tension-filled and beautifully well-balanced finish.
