Critic Notes
The 2015 Marquis d'Alesme Becker is composed of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot. It has a deep garnet-purple color and a broody, earthy/meaty nose over a core of crushed black currants, plum preserves and blackberry pie with hints of Indian spices and potpourri. The medium to full-bodied mouth displays a great core of rich black fruit flavors and a firm frame of ripe tannins plus seamless acid with a long, earthy finish. Feb 2018, www.robertparker.com

The 2015 Marquis d'Alesme Becker is one of the best wines I have tasted from this resurgent estate in the heart of Margaux. Ample and inviting, the 2015 possesses superb richness throughout. There is plenty of tannin and underlying structure, but those elements are nicely balanced by the sheer luxuriousness of the fruit. Readers should expect a decidedly intense style. Everything falls into place effortlessly in this superb Marquis d'Alesme Becker from the Perrodo family and consulting winemaker Michel Rolland. The blend is 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot. Tasted two times. Apr 2016, www.Vinous.com

The 2015 Marquis d'Alesme Becker is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot and 7% Cabernet Franc that was cropped at 35 hl/ha between 28 September and 15 October. Matured in 65% new oak, it has a precocious bouquet with opulent violet-tinged cassis fruit that needs to find a little more delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannin, plenty of depth with a crisp line of acidity, with impressive density on the finish that would be enhanced with more precision. Dark and winey, with ample blueberry and kirsch fruit giving this a frankly modern feel. Shows excellent energy throughout, revealing a licorice snap edge on the finish and admirable depth and length. This will have a lot of fans when bottled. Mar 2016, James Molesworth, www.WineSpectator.com

Dark purplish crimson. Headily floral on the nose. Quite lifted with notes that remind me of wasabi! A very interesting wine that is more transparent than most. Apr 2016, www.JancisRobinson.com, Drink: 2023-2035

Very good expression of elegant floral fruit and real class from Cabernet Sauvignon. This estate continues the good form it reached in 2014. Apr 2016, Steven Spurrier, www.Decanter.com, Drink: 2020-2032
