A serious wine, with loads of fruit, minerals and tannins. Very fine indeed. This is a tiny production wine that Jean-Luc Thunevin has been making for a couple of years; he only made 6,000 bottles from 10 acres. Almost 92-94. Jun 03,
This is a very fine effort, although like many 2002s it has completely closed down. It boasts a deep ruby/purple color, medium to full body, high, firm tannin, and sweet notes of creosote, black currants, and flowers. It is a full, classically made, structured wine for long-term cellaring. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2020+ || Although this small vineyard is owned by the Porcheron family, Marojallia is the garage operation of Jean-Luc Thunevin and his wife Murielle. Sadly, production is usually less than 500 cases. Apr 05,, Drink 2010-2020
Good ruby-red. Redcurrant, leather and smoky oak on the aromatic nose. Sweet and smooth but a bit featureless today, with notes of graphite, minerals, leather and smoke. With good but not outstanding density, the tannins come across as a bit dusty and drying. In a subdued stage at present, and not displaying much personality. May 05,
