This solid red offers mouthfilling tobacco, plum and blackberry notes, with nicely integrated toast on the juicy finish. —J.M. James Molesworth,
Tasted at Gruaud Larose, this has a slightly disjointed nose at the moment. Blackberry, boysenberry and some lovely figgy accents, though I would like to see more delineation. The palate has firm, bold tannins on the entry, toasty black fruit, great purity and refinement towards the finish. A second sample at the UGC was showing just a little more greenness than I was expecting on the nose, although the palate is still very fine. Tasted April 2011. Neal Martin

Medium ripeness and some savoury yeast extract notes on the nose. Very fragrant in relatively lean mode. Very sweet start and pretty lightweight. Not trying too hard but perfectly serviceable. Very clean, brisk finish. A second sample had much more density andpretty much sang with delight at this vintage.
This wine has wonderful aromatics that is enhanced by the 5% Petit Verdot which adds a delightful floral and violet expression. The fruit is vivacious but also has a richness in the mid palate. This wine is great value at only 10 Euros! Jeannie Cho Lee MW
