Fine concentration of cassis fruit and a slight leafiness brings lift and elegance, quite firm tannins to back up a wine with great finesse and depth. Drink 2015-30. Steven Spurrier, decanter.com
This is impressive, with a gorgeous palate of super velvety tannins and ultra-ripe fruit. Full and caressing yet muscular and powerful. Tasted three times. Best ever. jamessuckling.com
Lead pencil shavings, soy and barbecue smoke as well as red and black currants characterize this brilliant effort, which has an expansive, full-bodied mouthfeel yet a sublime elegance and lightness of being. Dense ruby/purple, gorgeous purity and a long, long finish of close to 50 seconds characterize another brilliant effort from this classified growth in Pessac-Leognan. It should drink nicely for 25-30 years yet is surprisingly accessible even today. ||A fabulous blend of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, this large (nearly 120-acre) estate near Haut-Bailly and Branon has tuned out another fabulous effort in 2010. Wine Advocate.February, 2013
Malartic Lagraviere Blasting off with licorice, oak, jammy blackberries and truffle, this concentrated, deep, full bodied , lush wine is filled with anise and blackberry. winecellarinsider.com
A broad swath of damson plum, blackberry and anise rolls along, followed by spice, black tea and black licorice notes on the dense finish. Serious grip is buried here as well. James Molesworth, winespectator.com
Blackish crimson. Obviously lots of alcohol. Raw meat and putty on the nose – attention grabbing! Quite fresh on the palate and well sculpted. Fine tannins. Pretty subtle dry wine. Racy and not fat. A well-mannered guest at the dinner table, methinks. Acidity dominates tannins. jancisrobinson.com
The deep ruby purple 2010 Malartic Lagraviere has aromas of plums, cassis and blackberries, followed by a softness in the middle palate, rounded velvety tannins and a good finish. In a vintage filled with very tannic astringent wines, this is refreshing because of its lighter touch - full bodied, but not thick or chunky, achieving a fine balance. Denis Dubourdieu is the consultant. asianpalate.com
