A candidate for perfection, the 2012 Madrona Ranch clearly includes a high percentage of Cabernet Franc (45%) in the blend given the extraordinary perfume this wine generates. An enormous blast of violets, mulberries, black currants and licorice-infused blackberries as well as hints of unsmoked cigar tobacco and forest floor soar from the glass of this full-bodied, voluptuously textured, inky-colored, dense, rich, pedal-to-the-metal proprietary red. This has virtually perfect balance, a flawless integration of all its component parts, and an enormous finish of close to a minute. This should turn out to be an amazing wine. Moreover, 2012 is a generous vintage in terms of production. This cuvee should drink well reasonably young and continue to evolve for 25-30+ years. Oct 2013, www.robertparker.com
