Fantastic aromas of blueberries, orange peel and flowers. Full-bodied, fruity — yet silky and focused with a beautiful center palate of fruit and ripe tannins. Remains fresh and gorgeous. Best ever. Drink in 2019. Feb 2017, www.jamessuckling.com
Score: 93-/100 James Suckling
The 2014 Lilian Ladouys 2014 has a crisp, masculine, tightly wound bouquet with blackberry, briary and cedar emerging with aeration. There is clearly prudent use of oak here, complementing rather than dominating the wine. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannin, a pleasant sous-Bois note underpinning the layers of cedary black fruit and a touch of spiciness on the finish. This comes highly recommended plus great value. Tasted February 2017. Mar 2017, www.robertparker.com
Score: 90-/100 Neal Martin
The 2014 Lilian Ladouys is soft, plump and incredibly appealing. Bright red cherry, raspberry, rose petal, mint and sweet spice notes are all pushed forward. This is an absolutely delicious, joyous bottle of wine to enjoy for its primary fruit and raciness. The blend is 55 % Merlot, 40 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 4 % Cabernet Franc, and 1 % Petit Verdot. The team headed by technical director Vincent Bache-Gabrielsen and consulting winemaker Eric Boissenot continues to do impressive work at this Saint-Estèphe property. Tasted two times. Feb 2017, www.vinous.com, Drink: 2017-2026
Score: 90-/100 Antonio Galloni Drinking Window: 2017-2026

2014 BORDEAUX: THE F+R PICKS. MONTROSE
In 2013, a year where tasting through the vintage was more of a challenge than usual, Montrose made a wine, indeed three wines: Tronquoy-Lalande, Dame de Montrose and Montrose itself, that seemed to have come from an entirely different vintage. The wines had weight, sweet fruit, balance and more. I asked Hervé Berland what the trick was. He just smiled ...

Bordeaux 2013: Twist or Stick?
2013 is a Bordeaux vintage that has been challenged from the start. Challenged by the weather that made the vintage, challenged by the naysayers since the grapes were picked, challenged by a wine market disenchanted by Bordeaux and challenged now by those with the job of selling it. Asked earlier this week by the maker of one of the year's ...
