This is really rich and dense with beautiful fruit and purity. Full and velvety. Long and flavorful. Elegant and structured. Two thirds Merlot and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon. Mar 2016, www.JamesSuckling,com
Tight tannins, full extraction and very modern. Ripe coffee fruit and grippy tannins; plenty to enjoy. One of the bigger expressions of the vintage. Apr 2016, Jane Anson,, Drink: 2022-2035
The 2015 Lespault-Martillac is plump, forward and juicy. Mint, sweet herbs and licorice add further shades of nuance, but ultimately, the 2015 is a wine built on forward fruit. This succulent, open-knit Pessac-Léognan should drink well early. The 2015 is an attractive wine, but it also lacks a bit of depth and continuity, something that is especially apparent on the finish. Apr 2016,
The 2015 Château Lespault-Martillac has a slightly blocky blackberry and raspberry-scented bouquet, touches of cold slate and gravel in the background, rendering this more reserved and masculine compared to its peers. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin, moderate weight in the mouth, what you might describe as a "solid" Pessac-Léognan with a slightly brutish finish that will need to be abraded during its élevage in barrel.
