Average Score 91.56

Tasted at Lynch-Bages and the UGC, the vineyard suffered some hail damage and some parcels lost as much as 30-40% of the crop and the yield which is 44hl/ha. The Les Ormes de Pez is a blend of 57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot raised in 45% new oak. It has a very sensual, very pure bouquet with dark cherries, boysenberry, wild hedgerow, mint and a touch of vanilla, much more feminine than the wines of the past. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent tannins on the entry, very good ripeness here and the Cabernet Sauvignon is really in harmony with the ripe Merlot. Voluminous and silky smooth towards the finish, this is an outstanding Les Ormes de Pez. Tasted March 2011. Neal Martin,
Really vibrant, with lovely notes of plum, violet and cherry preserves laced with chalky cut that stretches out the finish. Very, very solid. James Molesworth,
A wine with lots of flesh and chewy tannins. Full and round, with a lovely texture and finish. Long. These guys are on a roll here. Cazes family of Lynch-Bages. 57 percent Cabernet Sauvignon, 34 percent Merlot, 7 percent Cabernet Franc and 2 percent Petit Verdot.
Healthy crimson. Ripe and robust. Big and bold without much care for seduction. Very solid but it will take a lot of time to settle down.
Superb concentration of very ripe fruit, lots of richness and depth, will be very impressive. Drink 2016-28. Steven Spurrier,
Les Ormes de Pez - From the seam technical team as Chateau Lynch Bages in Pauillac, blending 57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot produced a deeply colored wine with scents of stone, cassis and coffee bean. With round tannins and a soft entry, the wine finishes with sweet cassis and black cherry flavors, supple textures and freshness.
The 2010 Ormes de Pez is a deep ruby, offering up notes of vibrant blackberries, blueberries and a hint of cedar, followed by rich and expressive flavours, notably mocha notes on the mid palate. This is a wonderful, seductive Ormes de Pez, with incredible density, power and depth. Yield 44 hl/ha, as hail destroyed some of the crop. Good value - the wines can often be found at below 30 Euros.
A fleshy, attractive, up-front style of wine with plenty of sweet cherry and black currant fruit along with a hint of licorice, this wine is pure, medium-bodied and very fresh, with surprisingly low acidity for a 2010. Drink it over the next decade. Wine Advocate.February, 2013
