A seductively-styled St.-Emilion, the 2007 Grandes Murailles offers excellent raspberry, black currant, and licorice notes intermixed with hints of wood and spice box. It offers good density, medium to full body, and a fleshy, round finish. Enjoy it over the next decade. Robert Parker, Wine Advocate # 188

Decadent, with intense berry and tobacco character. Full-bodied, delivering loads of rich fruit and round, velvety tannins. Slightly too extracted, but interesting. Drink now. James Suckling,Wine Spectator 2010.

Tasted at BI Wine & Spirits' 10-Years-On tasting, the 2007 Grandes Murailles offers smudged aromas of strawberry preserve and raspberry coulis, leather and sage tucked in just underneath. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin, quite sharp acidity and a rather pinched, slightly mean finish that has a slight rawness to it. Drink soon as this is not going anywhere.
