Very good aromas of plums and black cherries, with hints of tobacco. Full- to medium-bodied, with silky tannins and a solid core of ripe fruit. Tight but solid. Very good for the vintage. Best after 2008.James Suckling,Wine Spectator 2005.
Wine Spectator Score: 88/100
The deep ruby/purple-colored 2002 is more austere than usual, but it reveals classy blue, red, and black fruits along with hints of cold steel/wet stone as well as new oak notes that need to be absorbed. This is an elegant, traditionally made wine that should age nicely for 10-12+ years. Apr 2005, www.robertparker.com
