Critic Notes
The dark plum-colored 1997 displays considerable density as well as a sweet, open-knit, cherry/blueberry jam, mineral, and spicy, smoky oak-scented bouquet. The wine is medium-bodied, silky-textured, with low acidity, and a spicy, richly fruity, nicely layered finish. Moderate tannin suggests it may improve beyond a decade, but I would opt to drink it over the near term. Wine Advocate.April, 2000

Beautiful sweet fruit character, with chocolate and toasted oak undertones. Medium-bodied, with a soft texture and a long, fruity finish. Delicious. Drink now. James Suckling,Wine Spectator 2000.

Echezeaux and Grands Echezeaux should, strictly, be included here but they ...
