The effects of the new Latour partnership is evident. Beautifully textured with a really fine grain of tannin. Minerality but not exaggerated. Builds to a long, fresh finish. Extremely appealing. Apr 2016, James Lawther MW,, Drink: 2023-2035
A powerful, authoritative wine, the 2015 Le Prieuré offers notable depth and nuance for such an intense wine. Leather, smoke, tobacco licorice, huge deep, intense and powerful, but also with remarkable detail. A wine of elegance Le Prieuré states its case with finesse rather than sheer power. Jean-Claude Berrouet now consults for Le Prieuré, which is owned by the Goldschmidt family and François Pinault's Artémis Group. Apr 2016,
The walnut, spice and ripe berry character comes through clearly here with full body, medium tannins and a fresh finish. Mar 2016,
The 2015 Château Le Prieuré is more understated on the nose than its peers - gentle raspberry coulis and wild strawberry scents furnished a touch of fig. The palate is well balanced with fine tannin. There is a lucidity to this Saint Émilion, a brightness and vivacity, and it comes armed with plenty of energy and a finish that suggests a prosperous future. This is an excellent Château Le Prieuré from the Guichard family and I might head for this rather than their Pomerol, Vray Croix de Gay this year. Apr 2016,, Drink: 2020-2045
A tasty wine in the making, with bright raspberry and plum sauce notes bouncing along, backed by dried anise accents and a warm fruitcake hint. Shows plenty of flesh without becoming heavy, featuring a finish that ripples pleasantly. Mar 2016, James Molesworth,
Ripe, soft and juicy red fruit on the nose and palate. Not much in the way of complexity but the fruit quality carries the interest. Moderate length, medium tannic feel. Classic, conventional, drinkable. (RH) Apr 2016,, Drink: 2018-2024
