2015 Le Montrachet

Prieur; Jacques

The 2015 Montrachet Grand Cru has a light, slight smoky bouquet with an intriguing and very subtle licorice note that loiters in the background like a naughty kid. The palate is well balanced and shows more cohesion and terroir expression than the Chevalier-Montrachet: quite powerful with an attractive viscous texture, but counterbalanced by a fine thread of acidity and a convincing spicy finish. This is the best white from Jacques Prieur this year by some margin. Dec 2016, www.robertparker.com
