Tasted at the Fine Wine Experience 1962 Bordeaux horizontal. Moderate Very deep colour. It has a very intense, rich, almost decadent nose with black cherries, plum, a touch of creme brulee, not quite as delineated as the sensational bottle at the Latour vertical in 2005. The palate is full-bodied with dense tannins, real structure and forcefulness, touch of dried blood and tart red strawberry on the finish. But overall, not quite as refined as a bottle would be in pristine condition. Yet still a “monster” of a wine. Mar 2010, www.robertparker.com
