1978 Lascombes

flagBordeaux / France

The 1978 Lascombes is surprisingly green (even vegetal), lean, and acidic without any of the plump, round, generous, ripe, rich fruit that is one of the landmarks of this vintage. The wine lacks depth and richness, and seems quite mediocre given the high quality of the vintage. Anticipated maturity: Now-may be in decline. Last tasted, 3/89. Jan 1998, www.robertparker.com
