The change here is impressive with bright and vivid aromas and flavors of tropical fruits, stones, and minerals. Underlying energy and intensity in this white. Full and flavorful. Mar 2016, JamesSuckling.com
Showing less alcohol in 2015 after a change of consultant from Michel Rolland to Stéphane Derenoncourt, this is considerably fresher and more focused as a result. Bright, tangy and sappy, with restrained new oak and a long finish. Apr 2016, www.timatkin.com, Drink: 2017-2026
Smells sweeter than most of its peers. Not quite the attack and acidity that I'd like but good extract. Likely to be early maturing? Apr 2016, www.JancisRobinson.com, Drink: 2017-2020
There's alluring richness here, with an anise hint underscoring the yellow apple, white peach and verbena notes, gaining depth steadily with air. Offers a long, shortbread-enhanced finish. Mar 2016, James Molesworth, www.WineSpectator.com
The 2015 Larrivet Haut Brion Blanc, a blend of 80% Sauvignon Blanc and 20% Semillon, did not quite deliver the requisite complexity and vivacity on the nose compared to the likes of La Tour Martillac or Olivier this year. The palate is well balanced, however, with a keen thread of acidity, hints of tropical fruit with fine salinity on the finish. It actually finishes in better fashion than it begins. Apr 2016, www.robertparker.com
A full expression of the vintage, with ripe fruit aromatics but very nicely handled, with a sense of weight but a lovely focus on the finish. This is a wine that develops over the palate; sneaks up on you. Apr 2016, Jane Anson, www.Decanter.com, Drink: 2017-2025
The 2015 Larrivet-Haut-Brion Blanc comes across as decidedly rustic and four square. There is no shortage of intensity, but a measure of textural finesse is missing. Lemon peel and orchard fruit notes abound in a distinctly phenolic white that emphasizes power at this stage. This is the first vintage made by Stéphane Derenoncourt and his team.
