This is really well done with blueberry, mineral and dark chocolate character. Full body, with firm tannins and a long, intense finish. Excellent for the year. James Suckling, jamessuckling.com
James Suckling Score: 91-92/100
Tasted blind at the Southwold Bordeaux tasting. The 2012 Laroze put in a much better performance than I expected. It has a very composed bouquet, the new oak here deftly integrated, pure black and red fruit, a subtle undergrowth scent that becomes more accentuated with time. The palate is well balanced, quite classic in style. There is plenty of fruit here, more than it demonstrated out of barrel, but it is controlled, quite spicy, and gently fans out towards the very satisfying finish. This appears to have blossomed in bottle. Tasted January 2016. Oct 2016, www.robertparker.com
Neal Martin Score: 88/100
A competent, correct effort, the 2012 Laroze possesses decent fruit as well as hints of cherries, roasted herbs and loamy, sandy soil notes. Composed of 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, it should drink well for 5-7 years. Wine Advocate.April, 2013

Pomerol: Small but Beautiful
Bordeaux: the foundation of any cellar. The greatest, and most famous wine producing region in the world. The heart of fine wine production. These are all arguable. And, conveniently, there is rather a lot of it. The average left bank chateau will have an annual production of up to 20,000 cases per year, and barrel cellars the size of football ...
