The 2002 Lafaurie-Peyraguey has a refined bouquet with touches of beeswax, honeysuckle and dried quince that demands coaxing from the glass. The palate is well balanced with unctuous marmalade and honey on the entry, touches of bitter lemon coming through with fine tension on the finish. This is a 2002 that does want to be outdone by the previous vintage. Whilst it does not reach the level of the 2001, it remains a commendable Sauternes. Dec 2014, www.robertparker.com
