The 1999 Chateau Lafaurie-Peyraguey has a well-defined bouquet with clear honey, buttercup, mandarin and a touch of spice – certainly more harmonious than the previous two vintages. The palate is well balanced with a fine thread of acidity. There is good weight in the mouth, a little more edge and verve compared to the 1997 and 1998 with a crisp effervescent orange zest and citrus peel finish that lingers nicely in the mouth. This is drinking well now. Dec 2014, www.robertparker.com
