Tasted at the Sauternes 2006 ten-year on horizontal in Bordeaux. The 2006 La Tour Blanche has a burly, powerful bouquet, quite complex with dried honey, butterscotch, beeswax and spice. The palate is fresh and crisp on the entry with vibrant orange zest and mandarin notes. It is endowed with impressive depth and a powerful, botrytis-driven finish that lingers long in the mouth. This is an impressive, delicious Sauternes from La Tour Blanche that should drink well for two or three decades. Tasted April 2016. May 2016, www.robertparker.com
