A dark ruby color is followed by notes of plums, cedar, black currants, licorice and herbs. Medium-bodied with soft tannin and decent acidity, it is more well endowed than most vintages, but the 2008 must take a back seat to the more impressive 2010. Nevertheless, it is a good wine, widely available, and selling at a fair price. Drink it over the next 3-4 years. May 2011, www.robertparker.com
