From another of the small estates owned by the very talented winemaking consultant Nicolas Thienpont, this blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc has dense ruby/purple color, loads of blueberries, raspberry and a distinctive chalky minerality, which no doubt comes from the limestone, clay soils of the Cotes de Francs. The wine is medium-bodied, then finishes slightly narrower than Thienpont’s Alcee from the Cotes de Castillon. Nevertheless, it is still a nicely made wine. Drink it over the next decade.
