The 1998 La Poja, the estate's flagship wine, was produced from 100% Corvina Veronese and aged 27 months in new French oak demi-muids. An opaque blue/purple color is accompanied by dazzling aromas of blackberries, lead pencil shavings, acacia flowers, and pain grille. Superbly concentrated with great purity, and a palate staining intensity and richness ... all without any heaviness ... a real achievement. This is stunning stuff! Drink it over the next 10-15 years. ||A Leonardo Locascio Selection, Winebow, Hohokus, NJ; tel. (201) 445-0620 Wine Advocate.December, 2002
