This tiny yet special terroir owned by Stefan von Neipperg has turned out a sumptuous, opulent, gorgeously proportioned St.-Emilion that is a blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. The color is a dense purple and the bouquet offers up scents of mulberries, sweet black cherries, licorice, incense and a touch of minerality. Broad, concentrated and rich, this full-bodied wine will benefit from several years of bottle age and drink well for 20 years. Wine Advocate.April, 2014

This vivid red shows excellent definition to its linzer torte, black currant and juicy plum flavors, with lots of chalk and iron-driven cut on the finish. Ripe, sleek and focused. A step ahead of the pack. James Molesworth, WineSpectator.com

The 2011 La Mondotte has a very pure, defined bouquet that offers luscious dark cherries and blackberry scents, hints of violet petal emerging with time in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with a silky smooth entry, very well-judged acidity and a seamless finish that slips down the throat with style. This is simply a gorgeous and voluptuous Saint Emilion that will seduce at twenty paces, which is something you could not ascribe to many 2011s. Tasted April 2015. Jul 2016, www.robertparker.com
